Just immediately after paying homage to the traditional rulers of the communities, several meetings followed to foster the required relationship. In the process, we employed skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour at different phases of the project.
This was facilitated by the three major CLOs employed to interface between the Consortium, JPL/MORPOL and the entire host communities. At the end of the successful completion of the project, six (6) boreholes were constructed across the entire host communities. Attached are some of the pictures of the boreholes construction.
During the execution of this project, the following communities, grouped into 4 kingdoms, were cordially related with, namely 1.
Good deeds we provided for these communities include Bush Clearing; Supply of AGO; Security contracts to indigene; provision of General Surveillance of Right of Way (RoW); Supply of Buses by indigenes, Haulage of Pipes by indigenes; Supply of Granite Cement and Wood; Fencing Work; Construction of Septic Tank; Waste Management, Supply of Provisions, Supply of Unskilled & Semi-skilled labour; Supply of Management & Skilled labour; Rehabilitation of Gbarama Water Supply Scheme (works here include supply of power generator, supply of pumps, rehabilitation & installation of overhead water tanks, extension of water distribution lines); and restoration of River Banks embarkments.
During the execution of this project, the following communities in five clusters were cordially related with and benefits of our Social Responsibility were acceptable to these communities. The communities are Cluster 1 (Eleme, Elelenwo, Apajo, Rumuochwurus), Cluster 2 (Atali, Abara, Edegelem, Imeh, Umuechem, Eteche, Chokochoko), Cluster 3 (IPO, Omuanwa, Ozoaha, Omandeme, Ubima, Omerelu, Akanu, Egbeda), Cluster 4 (Awara communities), Cluster 5 (Omoku communities). Required relationship was established with each of these communities and subsequently we employed skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labours as well as sub-contracting of locally-sourced materials to indigenes, at different phases of the project.
This was facilitated by one CLO employed per cluster to interface between MORPOL and the entire host communities.
During the execution of the Project, MORPOL had cordial relationship with at least 6 communities.
