Our Commitment to CSR

At MORPOL our commitment extends to the various communities within which we operate. We are committed to the principle that will give back something to these communities. We also recognize that we have the responsibility to use our skills and resources to build human capacity development which is why our Corporate Social Responsibility posture for this project outlines our support and provision for;

Execution of Community Projects.

Employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled personnel.

Subcontracts award opportunities for supplies and services.

Provision of On-the-Job training as well as instructor-led training.

Nigeria Gas Company Limited (NGC) Gas Supply to PHCN Power Plant

During the execution of NGC Gas Supply to PHCN Power Plant, Papalanto, Ogun State in 2012. Thirty One (31) host communities namely Itoki, Iloye, Eriko, Afimo, Agoro, Kajola, Lerin-Okepata, Ososun, Baamu, Balogun, Ebiti, Ibokuru, Ejio, Abese, Soderu, Sounmi, Ogunmola, Elegbaata, Ajitaadun, Moshe, Olowofela, Abere-Meta, Ijoko-Lafun, Fenapa, Apena, Lerin-Olorunsogo, Obasa, Molashin, Alhaji and Olorunsogo were related with. Just immediately after paying homage to the traditional rulers of the communities, several meetings followed to foster the required relationship. In the process, we employed skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour at different phases of the project.

This was facilitated by the three major CLOs employed to interface between the Consortium, JPL/MORPOL and the entire host communities. At the end of the successful completion of the project, six (6) boreholes were constructed across the entire host communities. Attached are some of the pictures of the boreholes construction.

Construction Contract for Carbon Steel Flowlines, Manifold, Bulklines including Fibre Optic Cable (FOC) for SPDC Gbaran -Ubie Phase 2 Project

During the execution of this project, the following communities, grouped into 4 kingdoms, were cordially related with, namely 1.

Good deeds we provided for these communities include Bush Clearing; Supply of AGO; Security contracts to indigene; provision of General Surveillance of Right of Way (RoW); Supply of Buses by indigenes, Haulage of Pipes by indigenes; Supply of Granite Cement and Wood; Fencing Work; Construction of Septic Tank; Waste Management, Supply of Provisions, Supply of Unskilled & Semi-skilled labour; Supply of Management & Skilled labour; Rehabilitation of Gbarama Water Supply Scheme (works here include supply of power generator, supply of pumps, rehabilitation & installation of overhead water tanks, extension of water distribution lines); and restoration of River Banks embarkments.

Gas Pipeline from Ob-OB Gas Plant to IEFCL Enquiry No. IEFCL/12/001

During the execution of this project, the following communities in five clusters were cordially related with and benefits of our Social Responsibility were acceptable to these communities.  The communities are Cluster 1 (Eleme, Elelenwo, Apajo, Rumuochwurus), Cluster 2 (Atali, Abara, Edegelem, Imeh, Umuechem, Eteche, Chokochoko), Cluster 3 (IPO, Omuanwa, Ozoaha, Omandeme, Ubima, Omerelu, Akanu, Egbeda), Cluster 4 (Awara communities), Cluster 5 (Omoku communities).  Required relationship was established with each of these communities and subsequently we employed skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labours as well as sub-contracting of locally-sourced materials to indigenes, at different phases of the project. 

This was facilitated by one CLO employed per cluster to interface between MORPOL and the entire host communities.
